How to Safely Handle and Store Your Gas Cylinder at Home
At Jewelake Investment, your safety is our top priority. Whether you’re new to using LPG gas or a seasoned customer, knowing how to handle and store your gas cylinder safely is crucial. Here are detailed tips to keep your home safe and your cylinder in top condition.
1. Store Your Cylinder Upright
Always keep your LPG cylinder standing upright. This ensures the gas inside remains in its liquid state at the bottom, while the vapor exits from the top. Storing it on its side may interfere with proper flow or lead to leaks.
2. Ensure Good Ventilation
Place your gas cylinder in an open or well-ventilated area. Avoid enclosed spaces like under the sink or inside cabinets. Proper airflow helps disperse any leaked gas and reduces fire hazards.
3. Regularly Check for Leaks
Use a simple soapy water test to detect leaks. Apply the solution around the valve and regulator area. If you see bubbles forming, you may have a leak. Turn off the valve immediately and call Jewelake for inspection. Never use a match or flame to check for leaks.
4. Turn Off When Not in Use
When you’re done cooking or leaving the house, always turn off both the gas stove and the cylinder valve. This helps prevent unintentional leaks or accidents.
5. Keep Away from Heat and Flames
Do not place your gas cylinder near stoves, ovens, or any source of open flames or heat. Maintain a safe distance of at least 1.5 meters.
6. Use Approved Accessories
Only use hoses, regulators, and clips that are approved and in good working condition. Jewelake provides certified accessories that meet all safety standards.
7. Keep Out of Children’s Reach
Store cylinders in areas where children and pets cannot reach them. Make sure kids are aware of the basic rules of gas safety.
8. Report Faulty Cylinders Immediately
If your cylinder seems damaged, expired, or faulty, do not attempt to use it. Contact Jewelake Investment immediately for a safe replacement.
